Eid ul-Azha is observed all across the globe in honor of the Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his only son Ishmale on God’s command. But, later on, his son was replaced by a goat. The world Eid means festival in Arabic and Adha means sacrifice.
This festival falls on 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, which is the final / 12th month of the Islamic Calendar. It is the second largest festival for Muslims after Eid al-Fitr. As a part of its celebrations, Muslim community used to sacrifice lambs, goats, rams and such animals and offer prayers.
Later on, the meat of the sacrificed animal is divided into three parts. One part is retained by the family, one is distributed among the relatives and friends, and the last one is given to the poor people.
